01 / The challenge

Guest comfort couldn’t wait
for seasonal changeover.

The hotel reported up to 20 daily temperature requests during changeover periods. Its two-pipe system could deliver heating or cooling, but not both at once.

02 / The approach

Prove the room.
Then scale the solution.

PAFMAC added independent room heating and cooling while retaining existing piping. Four guestrooms were tested for a year before the first rollout in 2009.

  1. Main-tower installation began alongside guestroom renovations.

  2. All 455 south-tower rooms were completed across three installation years.

  3. Main-tower completion was planned for later that year.

03 / The reported result

A better response
to room-by-room needs.

The hotel reported that temperature requests stopped in upgraded rooms, with electricity use below its initial expectations.
